A consonance between childhood friends who shared a singing coach, The Army, The Navy are rooted in harmony. Sparse and effective production lends a hand to a style of tightly-stitched songwriting that founders Sasha Goldberg & Maia Ciambriello honed during their years studying music in New Orleans after kindling a connection in their Bay Area hometown. Weaving meticulously stacked pop-inspired melodies with profound tropes and confessions from the pits of young adulthood, the duo create an eminent lane for themselves in the name of shared experience translated with seamless vocal chemistry. 

The Army, The Navy fortifies a style of music with a foundation in not just musical harmony but the indelible chemistry that emerges from the lushest of friendships. Despite a childhood in close proximity, the group was unearthed in college practice rooms, living room jams and homespun gigs in the eccentric underbelly of Louisiana’s alternative music scene. By way of New Orleans the promising act found new soil in Los Angeles to polish their much anticipated debut EP ‘Fruit For Flies’, an earnest and passionate introduction to their world of transparency and intuition.

JAY SATTEN

Los Angeles-based Jay Satten is a dynamic force in hip-hop, drawing inspiration from his roots in Chicago and New York. His music blends influences from Quincy Jones to Kanye West, maintaining a sound uniquely his own. A true prodigy, Jay showcased his musical talents from a young age, teaching himself piano at 5 and launching a YouTube beat-making show at 10. Beyond music, Jay is a multifaceted artist, trained as a classical actor and model, currently studying creative writing at UCLA. His vision extends to his label, PGR Productions, where he self-publishes his work, including captivating singles. With each project, Jay pushes creative boundaries, inviting listeners into a world where audacity meets integrity, leaving them with a sense of wonder and a desire for more. Jay Satten is not just an artist; he is a phenomenon, promising to inspire and captivate all who encounter his journey.

SONIDOS NÓMADAS

or “Nomadic Sounds,” is an experimental psychedelic rock band established in LA by Daniel de la Cruz in 2016.

In Mexican culture, “tzompantli” is a collection of skulls displayed as offerings to the gods. For Sonidos Nómadas, Tzompantli is a collection of songs displayed as an offering to those who inspire us to change an unequal society. Their latest album came in 2023 and was presented at the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA), Vine in Long Beach, El Museo del Pulque in Mexico City, and La Revuelta in Celaya.

The band is comprised of Andy Bores (bass, guitar, keyboards), Gabriel Villa (Chicano Batman’s first drummer), Crystian (Daniel’s old musical collaborator), Tlaloc (who realized the project’s potential), and Crystal (keyboardist). Tzompantli focuses on Mexico’s vibe, where the vocalist is from.

This year, Sonidos Nómadas will headline the Feria del Mezcal in Oaxaca and is currently working on new songs!

LADY VENGEANCE

is an all natural, free range, no preservatives added punk band from Los Angeles. They intend to bring as much punk as they can to Westwood through their blend of riot girl, grunge, and emo inspired tunes. One of their most important goals is to create a space for everyone within their music, amplifying the emotional depth of their listeners’ ignored voices. Their line-up consists of Colette Bassett on vocals, Cas Knight on bass, Ollie Mangulabnan on drums, Christian Savage on rhythm guitar and Kate Ahn on lead guitar. SHILPA

is the solo project of the LA-based composer, producer & multi-instrumentalist, Shilpa. SHILPA is her experimental-acoustic quest to understand what it means to love in a queer Indian-American body. Her debut album, ESSAR, explores the loss of family, befriending of strangers, and wild adventures in the mountains. Beginning and ending with the voice of her grandmother, it is innately tied to the discord of a second-generation upbringing.

is an all-girl rock trio hailing from Whittier, CA, formed in 2016. This dynamic band has achieved nationwide recognition through extensive tours, collaborations with Yamaha, and the release of three original albums. MoonFuzz has graced stages ranging from intimate backyard shows to iconic venues like The Echo and The Roxy. Drawing inspiration from legendary bands such as Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and The Strokes, MoonFuzz is known for their electrifying live performances that captivate audiences. Their music spans from psychedelic melancholy to high-energy anthems, taking listeners on a memorable musical journey. GARDEN PARTY

Fusing the genres of Jazz, Motown, Neo-Soul, and Funk, Garden Party is an LA-based band, comprised of 7 members each from diverse musical backgrounds. Showcasing nostalgic rhythms, moving chord changes, and powerful horn lines, Garden Party creates original compositions of love, loneliness, and so much more, all through the soulful vocals of lead singer Coco Mori. Forming in their freshman year of college, the musicians quickly became family.

Playing shows in, and around LA, as well as San Francisco, the band has formed a consistent following, proving to be one of the most exciting young bands. They strive to create something new by incorporating the members’ backgrounds with inspirations from Lake Street Dive, Hiatus Kaiyote, D’Angelo, Roy Hargrove, Moonchild, Aretha Franklin, Norah Jones, and many more. Winners of the UCLA Tiny Desk Contest and performing at Spring Sing 2024, the band is excited to share their passion with the world and the party of Garden Party!
